Poppy Appeal

We had the letter about our donation for the Poppy Appeal and raised an amazing £197.92. Thanks to everyone!

Cultural diversity

We are working to put together a collection of stories and poems from our children’s heritage. Building on from our Humanae Project we are looking at our school community and celebrating the diversity we have. If you have a story or a poem from your child’s and your own cultural background please share it with us. You can send them in via email to the admin@holytrinity.herts.sch.uk or in writing and we will be putting together a collection to share.

Hot Chocolate Friday!

We have started a new incentive for our children this week called Hot Chocolate Friday! Children are chosen by their teachers to have hot chocolate with me at break-time. The children are chosen because of their consistently fantastic behaviour and attitude to learning. It is very important that we celebrate the behaviour of all of those children who always work hard and behave well. I am really proud of our children.

The first group are:

Annabelle and Sienna (Rec), Lucia (Y1), Ellie (Y2, Zara and Mrs Stickler (Y3), Rosie (Y4), Ruby and Bradley (Y5), and Gabriella (Y6).

It was great fun!

Prayer Day – Humanae Project

During the last week children took part in Prayer Day activities to paint their self-portraits and look at the similarities and differences in ourselves as a school. The activity promoted the idea that we are all people of God regardless of eye, hair or skin colour. The children mixed paints to match their skin colour which links into the Humanae Project which was developed by artist Angelica Dass. Her work is available to look at using the following link:

Gates

Reminder: the vehicle gates are not pedestrian exit. Please do not use these gates. The gates were installed to make the site safe for children and people using the site. Following a recent H&S check, they are potentially a crush zone for pedestrians due to the way in which the gates work. The reason we use the pedestrian gate is to try to help make Longlands Close a safe zone for our children and families. We are teaching the children to be safe and we expect our parents/carers to uphold our school rules when using the site.

Reminder: we no longer allow anyone without a permit to park on the premises. For breakfast and after school clubs you will need to park and use the pedestrian gates.

UNIFORM

Please remember to check your child’s uniform. We have a number of children who need indoor shoes and have yet to bring PE kits. Please ensure they have the correct uniform by Monday at the latest.

Should you have any queries regarding this please ask at the office or the class staff.

Class assemblies and events.

Parents/carers and family are invited to attend class assemblies and other events in the school calendar. This is an opportunity for you to share the work children have been doing.

Please ensure you arrive and are seated ready for any performance to start at the designated time. For most assemblies this is at 9.05AM ready for the class to start at 9.10AM. The assemblies normally finish by 9.25AM.

You will not be allowed in unless you are on time as this disrupts the children’s performances and the parents/carers and families’ enjoyment.

Please note: these are only for the parents/carers and families of children within the specific class. Mobile phones need to be on silent, video is not permitted. Further dates for next half-term are on the dates.

SchoolComms – online payments to school via credit or debit card

We  have introduced a new service ‘School Gateway’. This means that you will be able to make online payments via the School Gateway smartphone app or website. You will also be able to view school meal balances and top them up at any time.
