Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is allocated to local authorities and schools with pupils on roll that are known to have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any time in the last six years.

Each of these pupils currently attract funding. Schools will have the freedom to spend the Premium, which is additional to the underlying schools budget, in a way they think will best support the raising of attainment for the most vulnerable pupils.

Parents are strongly encouraged to register their child as eligible for FSM so that each school receives their maximum Pupil Premium entitlement. Follow this link to the HertsDirect website

The Pupil Premium is also provided for children in care who have been looked after continuously for at least six months. Children of parents in the armed services, who face particular challenges, are also eligible for an amount of funding.
