Christian Ethos and our Distinctively Christian Character.
Church schools have Christian beliefs and values firmly at their heart. Holy Trinity is no exception. This means that every child and adult in our school community is not just important because they are members of the school but also because they are seen as unique individuals within God’s creation.
As our SIAMS Inspector noted – 31.3.16:
‘Pupils, parents, staff and governors readily articulate the Christian values, which are seen as an essential and dynamic element in creating an ethos in which pupils can flourish and develop as whole people.’
Our values for this year are:
Our school has the motto “Aim High – Let your light shine’ because everyone is seen as so valuable in God’s eyes that everyone must be supported and encouraged to be the very best they can be. No one will or can be left behind.
We recognise that as well as academic and emotional intelligence we also have spiritual intelligence. The spiritual aspects of life will be recognised, and nurtured alongside the academic and emotional needs of all.
For families who have a faith, church schools have these principles to help them. Church schools should:
- nourish those of the faith
- encourage those of other faiths and those of none
Church of England schools are places where questioning of belief and non belief is encouraged as we all try to make sense of the world, the gift of life and the purpose of our own personal lives.

Prayer for this week:
O Lord, we beseech you mercifully to hear the prayers
of your people who call upon you;
and grant that they may both perceive and know
what things they ought to do,
and also may have grace and power faithfully to fulfil them;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
