Christian Ethos and our Distinctively Christian Character
Church schools have Christian beliefs and values firmly at their heart. Holy Trinity is no exception. This means that every child and adult in our school community is not just important because they are members of the school but also because they are seen as unique individuals within God’s creation.
In our last SIAMS Inspection (31.3.16), the Inspector noted:
‘Pupils, parents, staff and governors readily articulate the Christian values, which are seen as an essential and dynamic element in creating an ethos in which pupils can flourish and develop as whole people.’
Our school has the motto “Aim High – Let your light shine’ because everyone is seen as so valuable in God’s eyes that everyone must be supported and encouraged to be the very best they can be. No one will or can be left behind.
We recognise that as well as academic and emotional intelligence we also have spiritual intelligence. The spiritual aspects of life will be recognised, and nurtured alongside the academic and emotional needs of all.
The Church of England vision for education is at the heart of the school’s mission. Jesus’ promise to ‘bring life in all it’s fullness’ (John 10:10) inspires our Christian community daily. Through our values we ensure that all within our school are treated with love and respect, enabling them to feel secure and valued.

The Church of England Vision for Education
Our vision for education is deeply Christian, with Jesus’ promise of ‘life in all its fullness’ at its heart.
In line with the Church of England’s role as the established Church, our vision is for the common good of the whole community.
Educating for wisdom, knowledge and skills: enabling discipline, confidence and delight in seeking wisdom and knowledge, and developing talents in all areas of life.
Educating for hope and aspiration: enabling healing, repair and renewal, coping wisely when things go wrong, opening horizons and guiding people into ways of fulfilling them.
Educating for community and living well together: a core focus on relationships, participation in communities and the qualities of character that enable people to flourish together.
Educating for dignity and respect: the basic principle of respect for the value and preciousness of each person, treating each person as a unique individual of inherent worth.
